One of the best ways to support is letting people know. Help us go viral in a good way. I tried to make the web address as friendly as possible. movement.hammocksupport.org or simply www.hammocksupport.org will work.
We need help from people willing to put time into things such as the following:
Research: We want to be environmentally and socially friendly. We want to be legal.
Working with People: Key step to help achieve the researched goals. We want to have good rapport with National and State parks as well as privately owned entities. One important aspect will be integrating into existing websites.
Design: Various designs need to be created that make sure to support a max load while being environmentally friendly.
Installation: Poles and other support systems need to be added to places
Documentation: As we create places and find existing places it would be nice to track the progress to know where has been reached and where still needs to be reached.
Advertisement: I don't want to pay for advertisements as I believe social word of mouth is far superior for our goal but that means setting up social media accounts and that takes time considering how many social media platforms are out there. I might consider t-shirts as t-shirts can be a great conversation starter and can help reach those out on the trails instead of social media (after all this movement may be more for the nature lovers than the tech lovers).
Web development: my skills at web development are decent but there are people that could help bring me to a whole new level or just allow me to spend more time on other parts than web development. A few web goals include working with existing websites such as reserveAmerica and google maps to add support for knowing where are hammock spots as well as adding tools to this site that honestly I'm not even sure what would be best(aka ideas appreciated)
If you want to help feel free to contact donations@hammocksupport.org.
You can send money to donations@hammocksupport.org. If you do this through something like google pay and are using a debit card or bank account then you may be able to avoid having some of your donation going to credit card or other transaction fees. Or maybe better yet, pool your money locally with people you know and put up some support systems. WARNING there is no guarantee at this point that donations will be able to actually be used to put up supports. This is not meant to be someones job, if you want to try convincing someone to make it their job you can try convincing BraidededGoatee(.com) he has a hammock page.
